This album, full of chaotic yet restrained soundscapes, is mostly made out of the artist's field recordings from around the world.. One track (life is a stray bullet) is looped speech, another (into the depths of time, one of the best on the album) has "Russian submarine; my teapot" listed as its sources. The whole disc can be considered more or less to be stylish old-school experimentalism, fith the feel of early electro-acoustics. It doesn't always reach the listener, yet impresses with its technical genius and innovativeness at all times. Some of the tracks are very fine, and especially the line zombie bugs - sink in hell (with creaking pier and traffic lights from Helsinki) - black paper (with Kenji Siratori in vocals) is really great stuff in all of its changing tones. This is not an album one listens to very often, yet every time I play it, it impresses me again with its quality. It is an ssential purchase for fans of old-school avant-garde or electro-acoustics.

Yksi raita (life is a stray bullet) on loopattua puhetta, toisen (into the depths of time, yksi levyn parhaista teoksista) lähteinä lukee "venäläinen sukellusvene; minun teepannuni". Koko albumia voi lähinnä pitää tyylikkäänä vanhan koulukunnan kokeellisuutena, jostakin elektroakustiikan varhaisvuosien tunnelmista. Muutamat levyn raidoista ovat erittäin hienoja, ja varsinkin putki zombie bugs - sink in hell (jossa on Helsingistä natisevaa laituria ja liikennevaloja) - black paper (vokaaleissa Kenji Siratori) on vaihtelevuudessaan todella kovaa tavaraa. Tällaista albumia ei tule kuunneltua kovinkaan usein, mutta joka kerta kun laitan sen soittimeeni, se vakuuttaa minut laadustaan yhä uudelleen. Erittäin oleellinen hankinta sekä vanhan koulukunnan avantgarden että elektroakustiikan ystäville. Huom.
