Vastaavasti toisaalla huomaa lähes suuttuvansa siitä miten joku upea palanen jää häröilyn taakse ja menee hukkaan. Siksi se puhtaasti musiikillisena teoksena jättää minut varsin kylmäksi. Ei niin ettenkö pitäisi paljosta mitä sillä on, mutta kokonaisuus ei tunnu toimivan kiinnostavana kuuntelukokemuksena, ainakaan minulle. Toisaalta, jos levyä ajattelee säveltulkintana sen inspiroineesta mielentilakoneesta (peräisin Philip K. Dickin teoksesta Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?), on pakko myöntää sen tavoittavan kohteensa erittäin hyvin.

Omalla tavallaan hyvin ovela luomus, mutta en usko kovin usein kuuntelevani tätä, siitä huolimatta.

Penfield Mood Organ, which starts up like a horror album, is a weird thing. The second collaboration between Horologium and Moljebka Pvlse, it shows quite clearly both the up and downsides of joint works. It is indeed very much like a soundtrack to a non-exiting movie: the tracks mutate a lot, containing anything from minimalism to drum rhythms and Pimentola-like excellent circus chaos. From the best segments it's easy to see that they are the results of shared creativity, much more than a sum of the parts they are made of. In turn, at other times one almost gets angry because some fine element gets pushed to the background by some weirdness and thus ends up practically wasted. Therefore the album leaves me musically quite cold. It's not that there aren't things that I'd like, it's just that the whole does not work as an interesting listen for me. Yet if one thinks of the album as a musical interpretation of the fictional emotion machine from text that inspired it, Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, one must say that it catches that target extremely well.

In its own way quite a clever creation, but nevertheless not something that I expect to listen to that often.
