Venäläisen Paracoren verkkojakelussa oleva debyytti-ep on lähinnä kuvailtavissa kauhu-ambientiksi. Se on hyvin minimalistisin keinoin ja ilman suuria äänimaisemia tehtyä kolkkoa äänitilaa, jota välillä sävyttävät siihen saapuvat yksinkertaiset mutta kauniit melodiat. Parilla ensimmäisellä kuuntelukerralla tämä nykyisin jo varsin tavanomaisen synkän ambientin tyylilajin edustaja ei juurikaan vakuuttanut minua, mutta kolmannella kierroksella muutamat levyn osista, varsinkin New Risen Thronen tuotantoa muistuttava Ego [Infected], alkavat soimaan päässä hyvin miellyttävällä tavalla.

This internet-distributed debut ep by the Russian project Paracore can be best described as horror ambient. It a set of haunting sound-spaces created through very minimalist means and without any big soundscapes, sometimes accentuated by simple yet pretty melodic parts. This particular representative of such a nowadays rather ordinary style of dark ambient did not really impress me during the first couple of listens, but on the third try a few of its parts, especially the New Risen Throne -like Ego [Infected], started to ring in my head in a pleasant way.

On the other hand Tactical Jamming (Experimental), which combines the aforementioned elements to a machine-made military drum, remains just a badly executed good idea. Regardless of all this, there is so much innovative and original stuff present that paying attention to this artist's works in the future will probably be worthwhile. So is checking out at least the aforementioned Ego [Infected] and the from-promising-to-just-screaming-chaos going end track, von den hinterweltlern.
