Assfunction contains crude noise made by squealing balloons and a car tire. While there isn't much hard strength to it, the disc makes up for it by staying interesting in some tricky way. It's a collection of squeaks that work as a whole, sounding like a crazy man walking to and fro on a snow-covered front yard. Antti Oksanen, better known from the band Squamata, has clearly been able to utilize his mad idea to great effect, creating something that impresses, even if it doesn't strike completely home. And it's stuff that makes you wonder how it'll play out done live.

Assfunction comes in a hand-made box, with scissors, rubber bands and instructions to "cut off your asshole". So it's not very stylish, but highly logical in its own twisted way. And that's precisely what I'd say of the music as well.

Assfunction on karkeaa noisea joka on tehty vinguttamalla ilmapalloja ja autonrengasta. Siinä missä voimaa on aika rajallisesti, paikkaa kiekko tilannetta pysymällä jollakin kierolla tavalla kiinnostavana. Se on joukko narinoita, jotka toimivat kokonaisuudessa, narskuen kuin hullu mies tarpomassa edestakaisin lumisella pihalla. Squamatan riveistä paremmin tunnettu Antti Oksanen on selkeästi kyennyt hyödyntämään sinällään älytöntä ideaa varsin hyvin, ja luonut jotakin joka vakuuttaa, vaikka ei iskekään aivan täysillä tajuntaan. Ja materiaalista myös nousee välittömästi mieleen ajatus siitä miltä teos näyttäisi livenä. Assfunction tulee käsin tehdyssä pahvipaketissa kuminauhojen, saksien ja "leikkaa persereikäsi irti" -ohjeiden kera. Ei ehkä täysin tyylikkäänä, mutta omalla kierolla tavallaan mainion loogisena.
